School Development Plan Priorities 2020-21
School Vision and Values
Our vision is built around the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:15). We are committed to ensuring that we provide the fertile soil in which everyone can grow to be the best that they can be. We use the statement ‘Learning and Growing together to be the best that we can be’ to summarise our Vision. Our vision document clearly outlines what the outcome of this growth will be, detailed in the green lined boxes in our Vision overview document.
We wholeheartedly adhere to the belief expressed in the Church of England’s Vision for Education (2016) that “We aim to deliver excellence in education and want the very best outcomes for children and young people so that they can achieve their fullest potential…. With many schools reporting that they feel under increasing pressure to make artificial choices between academic rigour and the wellbeing of their pupils, we are unequivocal in our message that there is no such distinction – a good education must promote life in all its fullness”
We combine a focus on our agreed whole school Learning Values, our Christian Values, ethical leadership, a quality curriculum and inclusive practice to ensure that all stakeholders are are given opportunities to grow academically, spiritually, morally and socially.
We have developed whole school learning values that are promoted through everything we do. Each half term we focus on one value in particular, but children are encouraged to demonstrate the values through all their work and their relationships with each other.
Alongside our Leaning Values, we have a shared set of values rooted in the Christian faith, but which have meaning in all faiths. We focus on these in Collective Worship and class worship times, linking them to the work we do and the learning values we promote.
